Free payment receipt maker
Give a proper receipt every time money comes in: who paid, how much, how they paid and against which bill, with the amount in words and the balance still due. No login, nothing sent to anyone.
How to make a receipt here
- Type your business details once. Name, address, phone and GSTIN if you have one. Add your signature under "Logo and signature" so it prints above "Authorised signatory". Saved businesses appear as you type.
- Choose the type. "Payment received" for money against a bill, or "Advance received" for money before you supply. An advance receipt prints "Advance received. A tax invoice will be issued on supply."
- Fill in who paid. Name, address, phone and GSTIN of the payer. Saved customers come up as suggestions; nothing fills in by itself.
- Enter the payment. Amount, "Paid by" (Cash, UPI, Cheque, Bank transfer, Card, Demand draft or Other), the cheque or reference number, its date and the bank. Add the bill numbers it is against, what it is towards and any balance still due.
- Pick paper and copies. A5 (half page) is the default; A4 and thermal rolls of 80 mm and 58 mm are there too. Choose "Original and office copy" to print one for the payer and one for your file.
- Save, then Print / PDF or Share. Share sends a PDF through WhatsApp, email or any app on your phone. On a computer the PDF is downloaded so you can attach it.
What it does for you
- Amount in words, always: the total prints in figures and in Indian words, for example "Rupees One Lakh Three Thousand Eight Hundred Forty Only".
- Revenue stamp box: for a cash receipt over ₹5,000, a box marks where the stamp goes.
- Payments and advances: two types, each clearly printed, with the bills it is against and the balance still due.
- One number series, RCT/26-27/001 onwards, restarting every financial year, with a warning when a number is used twice.
- Print the way you need: A5, A4 or thermal roll, one copy or Original and office copy, Classic, Modern or Compact design.
- In your language: 24 languages on screen; the printed receipt stays in English so any bank, office or court can read it.
Your data stays with you
Everything you type is kept in this browser on this device. There is no account and nothing is uploaded to us. Your businesses, customers, suppliers and items are shared with the other Nivesh Sahayak document tools through my.niveshsahayak.in, so details you saved while making an invoice or a quotation are already here as suggestions.

Questions people ask
Is this receipt maker free?
Yes. Making, saving, printing and sharing receipts is free, with no login and no limit. A small line at the bottom of the receipt says where it was made.
Does a receipt need a revenue stamp?
Under the Stamp Act, a receipt for more than ₹5,000 usually needs a ₹1 revenue stamp, signed across. The maker prints a box for it on cash receipts above ₹5,000. See revenue stamp on receipts.
Can I make a receipt for a part payment?
Yes. Write the invoice number in "Against", "part payment" in "Towards" and the amount left in "Balance still due". The balance prints on the receipt.
What is an advance receipt?
A receipt for money paid before you supply. Choose "Advance received": it prints "Advance received. A tax invoice will be issued on supply." Under GST, this is the receipt voucher for the advance; see advance receipt under GST.
Is a receipt the same as an invoice?
No. An invoice is the bill for what you supplied; a receipt only proves that money was paid. See receipt vs invoice.
Can I print two copies?
Yes. Under copies choose "Original and office copy": the receipt prints twice, one for the payer and one for your file.
Can I print it on a thermal printer?
Yes. Choose "Thermal roll 80 mm" or "Thermal roll 58 mm" under Paper size. A5 (half page) is the default, and A4 is also there.
